TV in Cyprus

The REUMAVID study makes an appearance in the Cypriot TV. After the Cyprus League Against Rheumatism (CYPLAR), the patient association leading the Cypriot part of the REUMAVID project, forwarded the first press release with the main findings of the REUMAVID survey to the mass media, they were contacted by TV channels to be interviewed about the study and its objectives. Souzi Makri, president of CYPLAR and patient research partner of the REUMAVID study, appeared at two TV channels, namely ALPHA TV and PLUS TV, during their midday programme. At the interview, she describes the main aspects of REUMAVID (countries, organizations and stakeholders involved, goals and the main findings analysing the impact of the pandemic on the health condition of RMD patients).

More specifically, the journalists wanted to know the main consequences of the pandemic on the people living with rheumatic diseases and their wellbeing and their concerns and hopes. Moreover, she was asked about the role of the patient organizations during the pandemic, whether patients referred to them for information, support and guidance and what measures were taken by patient organizations to support their members.

REUMAVID is a project conducted by the Health & Territory Research (HTR) group of the University of Seville (Spain)
